Introduction

SmartWebDesk ("we") runs https://smartwebdesk.com/ and the student portal: online exams, practice tests, and related learning tools. This policy explains what we collect for those services. You can read the website without an account. Using an account or buying a plan means you accept this policy and the Terms and Conditions. Indian law applies. A school or institute that enrols you may also apply its own rules.

Collection

On sign-up we collect name, email, role, and a password stored only as a hash. Phone number only if you give it. For a secured exam we may take a profile photo and a live photo for a face check, and camera or screen signals only if that exam turns them on. A government ID image is taken only if that exam asks for it. If you allow location, we store latitude, longitude, and time with your IP address and browser. We store practice and exam attempts. Plans are paid with Paytm / UPI. We keep the plan, amount, order id, status, and gateway reference. We do not store your UPI PIN or full card number. A student can start 2 practice tests without paying.

Usage

We use this data to run the account, deliver exams and the 2 free practice tests, activate a paid plan after Paytm confirms payment, apply anti-cheating rules the exam asks for, send service notices, and prevent fraud. If an exam needs the camera or location and you refuse, that exam may not start. Marketing mail can be stopped by writing to us.

Sharing

We share exam records with the institute that enrolled you, and with the hosts, email, and AI providers that run the product. Paytm receives the payment you start. We do not sell personal data. We do not ship goods, so there is no courier. We disclose data when the law or a court requires it, or to protect users.

Security precautions

The site uses HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls. Internet transmission is not fully secure. Keep your login private.

Data deletion and retention

Ask us to close the account by email or WhatsApp below. We may wait if a payment dispute or a legal duty is open. After closure we delete or anonymise personal data we no longer need, usually within 30 days and at most within 90 days. Invoices may be kept for up to 8 years. Exam media follows the same 30-to-90-day limit unless a dispute or the law needs it longer.

Your rights

You can correct details the portal lets you edit. For access or deletion, email us or start with your institute admin. We may verify the request and keep a record the law requires.

Consent

You can skip a feature by not using it. To withdraw consent, email the Grievance Officer with the subject "Withdrawal of consent for processing personal data". Withdrawal does not undo past use, and a service that needs that data may stop.

We update this page when the practice changes. The date above will change.

A privacy complaint with the subject "Privacy grievance" is acknowledged within 48 hours. We aim to resolve it within 30 days.
